Welcome to Mohawk Valley - East

Hamilton, Fulton, Montgomery, and Schoharie Counties

We are a small but dedicated group of teachers working together to provide quality FACS education and lasting positive experiences for our FACS students. We are 14 members strong!

We need even more members so we can remain strong as an area and as a profession! Here are some reasons why you should pay your dues and join NYSAFCSE:

·         Monday Memos with pertinent information all FACS teachers should know!

·         Area Meetings with networking and curriculum development opportunities!

·         Many of us attended the New York State Unified Family and Consumer Sciences Conference - FACS: The Passport to Healthy and Sustainable Families, on October 17th-18th in Albany, NY.  The conference was full of energy while educators – old and new – had the opportunity to collaborate, share and laugh.

·         Over the summer, we held two lunch sessions at Dodi Cechnicki’s House.  On July 10th we discussed Health and Wellness Initiatives, with a focus on Food Labs in Food and Nutrition.  On August 14th, collaborated on “Supporting the Standards through Technology.”
